Why the silence?

True Highlands, or I should say the people behind the scenes, have been through a tumultuous time over the past year.  Catherine and Katie between them have moved house, sold a business, had death in the family, juggled a young family, moved jobs, set up home with a new partner, started a new business and in the middle of this decided to sell True Highlands to someone who could devote the time it deserves.

Needless to say, we are still here, and we haven’t sold.  Yes there were interested parties, we came close once to handing over the reins, but the reality was we didn’t want to sell, we still feel passionately about True Highlands, we want to reinvigorate it and get to the point we were at pre-covid when we were posting virtually daily on social media, and with an inbox full of enquiries to help people plan their holidays.

What now?

So, here is where we are at.  We’re updating the website – some cosmetic changes, some background coding changes.  We’ll be getting in touch with all the businesses currently listed on the website and see if they would like to make changes to their listing.  Contacting businesses who have been members in the past and reaching out to new businesses too.  We’re also going to expand our criteria for listing on the site, not just tourism related, but any business.  There are literally thousands of businesses here in the Highlands who make visitors and locals lives easier and provide products and services for every eventuality.

We’re feeling reinvigorated, the ‘life stuff’ hasn’t gone away, but our focus is becoming clearer once again, and we’re aiming to start 2023 off with a bang!
