Renovated in 2018 to provide the perfect place to stay, that ticks all the boxes, and has a great feel to it the minute you walk through the door. You will just know straight away………

We are not sure if It is the spacious living space with large windows that take advantage of the stunning panoramic views as well as flood the modern open plan design with natural light that has given it that feeling. Perhaps it is also the carefully chosen furniture and fittings throughout that make it as comfortable as possible after a day exploring this wonderful part of the world. The Designer lighting certainly allows you to create the perfect mood in the cottage. As well as having the comfiest of King size beds with a unique solid oak headboard backlit to create a romantic glow. The ensuite wet room includes a wonderful cascade shower and features a demisting mirror, warm tiles underfoot and a heated towel rail to make sure your towels are warm when you are ready to use them. Quality linen, towels & toiletries all included in the cottage rental. The fitted kitchen is very well equipped for cooking any meal should you choose to do so and there is a coffee machine and microwave as well. The wall mounted 65” smart TV with Freeview in the living area includes Netflix and you can continue watching any late-night film on the second TV in the bedroom if you prefer. Importantly there is free Wi-Fi throughout the cottage. A separate utility room provides an extra toilet with an automatic washing machine available and extra sink to clean these muddy boots ready for the next day’s walking.

There is a landscaped garden accessed through a sliding patio door onto a large balcony where the sun shines most of the day. Craiglora directly overlooks the tidal race known as the Falls of Lora with excellent views of Loch Etive and Ben Cruachan. Many of our guests have told us how much they enjoy the ever-changing tides, spotting seals or otters as well as watching the boats heading up Loch Etive under Connel Bridge, the coastguards out on training sessions or the kayakers disappearing as they challenge the frothing currents and whirlpools.

Craiglora is the perfect location to explore the wonderful West Highlands and if you manage to tear yourself away from relaxing at the cottage you may find you want to explore many interesting walks in Connel and the surrounding area. We have created a couple of maps for you to make it more enjoyable to do that. It is easy to join the Oban to Inverness walking/cycling track directly from the cottage or you might want to book a boat trip up Loch Etive – it is stunning. Craiglora is also a perfectly situated base for visiting many of the Islands accessed via ferries from Oban to Mull, Iona, Lismore or further to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles. Great for heading out on day trips north to Fort William, Mallaig, the Ardnamurchan Peninsula and some of our guests have been as far as the Isle of Skye for a day trip. Heading south of Oban is also very beautiful and not far to cross the famous bridge over the Atlantic to visit the Isle of Seil, Easdale or you can head to the island of Luing. A bit further south lies the not so well known stunning Craignish peninsula or further afield is the fantastic Kintyre peninsula. So many wonderful places to visit whatever direction you choose.

Oh……. and when you arrive at the cottage important to mention there is a marked parking space for one vehicle available at all times. Not a problem to park near the cottage if space for another vehicle is required.

Maybe it is just all of the above brought together that makes Craiglora a truly special place to stay.
