Self Catering in Sutherland

Since 1989 we have provided visitors with self catering holiday accommodation at Aultibea cottage. This beautiful holiday cottage is situated in a peaceful setting in the countryside just outside the small village of Rogart near Dornoch, close to both the Golspie and Brora villages with plenty of services and activities. It is well-equipped, and in an ideal location for a country holiday with stunning views and lots of intriguing wildlife or just to use as a central base for wider Highland trips.

Rogart is crofting country and around the holiday cottage the hills are strewn with red deer and much interesting wildlife. The valleys (glens) have salmon and trout rivers and the nearby coast has many seals and occasionally bottlenose dolphins visit. In the sky above fly Eagles, Osprey and a wide range of interesting and rare birds.

Local villages Golspie, Brora, Lairg, Helmsdale and Dornoch have, between them, a wide range of things to see and do including castles, distilleries, award winning sandy beaches and lovely shops. Further afield, you can visit the west coast villages of Ullapool and Lochinver and to the north, the famous Smoo Cave at Durness. Inverness and the Black Isle are also an easy day trip.  For the golfers we are close to Royal Dornoch Golf Club and don’t miss a day trip to Dornoch Cathedral, Dunrobin Castle, Carn Liath Broch, Loch Fleet Nature Reserve, Clynelish Distillery, Falls of Shin and many more attractions.  Alternatively you could just relax and enjoy the private walled garden.
