Culdearn House Hotel
Small Country House in Grantown on Spey
Culdearn is a beautiful Victorian House country house built around 1860 by the Seafield Estate. It has been owned and run by the Marshall family as a country house hotel for almost 19 years. The house has retained many of its original features with elaborate cornicing, wood panelling and cosy fires. We have six individually decorated luxury en-suite bedrooms and many of our guests Most of our guests stay on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis and return year after year.
We are committed and passionate about two of Scotland’s greatest products. Firstly whisky, which should be fully celebrated, tried and tested! There are over 50 malt whisky distilleries in the area and arrangements can be made for tours and tastings as well as in-house nosings and advice. The Scottish Field, Maps of Excellence, Daily Telegraph, Michelin, Good Hotel Guides and others have all recommended
Culdearn over the years for our special selection of fine malts and some rare single casks which are often complex and differ significantly from the more readily available classic malts.
Our other passion is food and we pride ourselves on sourcing only locally grown and produced produce. Our lamb is hill fed, our fish local, our beef prize winning and we are a member of the Scotch Beef Club together with an award winning wine list.
Located in the historic town of Grantown on Spey, near Aviemore in the Cairngorm National Park, there is so much to do and enjoy. Fishing on the nearby River Spey for salmon and sea trout (Culdearn has also been recommended by the Good Hotel Guide three times as Editors Choice for fishing accommodation), visiting many castles including Ballindalloch Castle and Cawdor Castle, skiing, nature reserves, including the world famous Osprey nests and walking.
